Masking Requirements Change at HGMH

Masking Requirements Change at HGMH

Alexandria, ON – Following new guidance from Public Health Ontario, masking requirements have recently changed at Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital (HGMH).

Masks no longer need to be worn in public spaces and common areas, such as hallways, elevators, lobbies, waiting areas, and cafeteria. Patients and members of the public will not be required to wear a mask in common areas, however when visiting a patient or receiving care the public must wear a mask. Staff and physicians will continue to wear masks when entering a patient room, and when providing direct patient care in all areas of the hospital.

The situation surrounding the pandemic remains fluid, and HGMH will continue to closely monitor guidelines issued by Public Health Ontario. Should the need arise, HGMH is prepared to adjust their policies accordingly, prioritizing the well-being and safety of their patients, visitors, and staff above all else.

Support and cooperation from the community throughout these times is appreciated.
