Life in Alexandria and North Glengarry

Alexandria is located in North Glengarry County and is situated in between Ottawa and Montreal. North Glengarry is a culturally rich area with its original settlers being Scottish Highlanders and French Canadian farmers. It is home to several industrial and commercial businesses and countless farms. It also houses all of the amenities needed including pharmacies, a large grocery store, several restaurants and fast food chains, local cafes and pubs and of course, our beloved hospital.

Frequently asked questions

Hiring for summer positions is based on the needs of the individual units. As requests for students are received by the Human Resources Department, the positions are posted on our website for candidates to apply. It is important to remember that all members of HGMH staff, including summer students, need to meet all infection control standards (immunizations).

We encourage you to submit your CV. We keep all submitted CVs for a period of six months. If you have not received a call within six months and are still interested in employment with HGMH, then please visit the Current Employment Opportunities section and reapply.

Human Resources requests that if you have submitted your CV by e-mail, fax or in person, that you not submit it again by other means. Please be assured that your résumé has been received and in the event of an error (e.g. forgotten attachment), you will be notified.

You must apply to each position. Please ensure to indicate the competition number in your cover letter or email. Only applicants who meet the posted essential qualifications may be contacted at the discretion of the Hiring Manager/Director.
