Reopening of Pool for Patient Programs and Partnership with Township of North Glengarry for Community Initiatives
Alexandria, ON – Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital (HGMH) is thrilled to announce the reopening of it’s long-closed hospital pool, ushering in a new era of patient care and community engagement. This exciting development is the result of a partnership between HGMH and the Township of North Glengarry.
In addition to its dedicated use for patient programs, the pool will once again serve as a vital hub for enhancing the well-being of residents in the Township of North Glengarry. The partnership brings together the healthcare expertise of HGMH and the community outreach initiatives of the Township, resulting in a dynamic combination of specialized patient programs and diverse community offerings.
As of July 1st, 2023, HGMH will be leveraging the rehabilitative power of hydrotherapy treatment to enhance patient care. Following a patient assessment that identifies the patient’s treatment, or recovery goals, would be best addressed by the proposed hydrotherapy, patients will have access to a specialized program under the guidance of highly skilled healthcare professionals.
The Township of North Glengarry, recognizing the importance of community wellness, will operate a comprehensive suite of recreational and wellness programs using the hospital pool starting this fall. These programs will cater to individuals of all ages and abilities, fostering an inclusive and vibrant space for our community. Residents can look forward to a variety of recreational programs that promote healthy lifestyles and build social connections.
