Enhanced Resuscitation Room at HGMH Now Equipped with Negative Pressure Technology
Alexandria, ON – Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital (HGMH) is proud to announce the completion of renovations to its resuscitation room, integrating negative pressure technology to enhance patient care and safety during critical medical interventions.
The revamped resuscitation room stands as a testament to the hospital’s commitment to innovation and excellence in healthcare delivery. With the addition of negative pressure capabilities, the facility is poised to provide an even higher level of care for patients requiring urgent medical attention, particularly those with infectious diseases.
"Ensuring the utmost safety and efficacy in resuscitative efforts is paramount in our mission to delivering outstanding care for our communities," stated Robert Alldred-Hughes, President & CEO of HGMH. " By integrating Negative Pressure technology, we are better equipped to address the evolving challenges of healthcare and uphold our commitment to patient and staff safety."
Negative pressure technology creates an environment where air flows into the room but does not escape, effectively containing airborne contaminants within the space and filtering them safely outside. This critical feature reduces the risk of cross-contamination, safeguarding both patients and healthcare providers during high-stake medical procedures.
The renovated resuscitation room is equipped with state-of-the-art ventilation systems and meticulously engineered airflow controls to ensure optimal performance while maintaining a safe environment. The cost for this project was $197,000 in which the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program helped support.
