Emergency Department Upgrade

Emergency Department Upgrade

On Wednesday, October 16, our emergency department will be moving to electronic charting. This upgrade to our electronic medical record is a key step in helping us create a fully integrated electronic chart which will improve the quality and safety of patient care at HGMH.

What to expect:

This is a big change, and it will take several weeks for our nurses and doctors to adjust to the new system and workflow. We have increased our staffing for nurses and doctors during this time, however, you may experience longer-than-usual wait times.

How you can help:

If you require emergency care, it would help to speed patient flow if you could ensure you bring a list of your medications (including strength and frequency), contact details for your emergency or support contacts, and detailed goals of care.
