Access to Information

As of January 1st 2012, Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital (HGMH) is subject to Ontario's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).

In this section of our website, you will find information regarding the following:

FIPPA has two core purposes:

  1. Freedom of Information: to provide a right of access to records under the custody or control of public bodies.
  2. Protection of Privacy: to protect the privacy of individuals from unauthorized use or disclosure by public bodies.

Personal health information continues to be subject to Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). If you are seeking access to your health records or personal health information, please contact Health Information Services.

To ensure full compliance with the Act, HGMH has assigned a Freedom of Information Coordinator who will process freedom of information (FOI) requests and oversee the protection of privacy. Your HGMH contact is:
